Why did my position close unexpectedly?
If your position has closed automatically and you did not manually close it, there are several common reasons this may have occurred. Below are the most likely scenarios:
1. Your Stop Loss or Take Profit Was Triggered
If you had a Stop Loss or Take Profit attached to your position, the trade will automatically close once the market reaches the specified price level.
2. Your Position Was Stopped Out Due to Insufficient Margin
Positions may be closed automatically if your account no longer has enough available funds to support open trades.
Our margin close-out level is 50%. This means that if your account equity falls to 50% of the required margin, positions may begin to close automatically to prevent the account from entering a negative balance.
3. The Contract Reached Its Expiry Date
Some trading instruments are based on contracts with a fixed expiry date. When the contract expires, any open positions on that contract will be closed automatically.
4. An Opposite Position Was Opened Without Hedging Enabled
If you open an opposite position in the same market and hedging is not enabled, the platform may automatically offset or close your existing position instead of creating a separate trade.
